What are Dreams?

Dreams are indicators of what we have experienced during the fading day. All our thoughts and feelings are being analyzed, scrutinized; obstacles and challenges are being resolved through our subconscious mind. This is a time of learning and problem solving.

Dreams are mostly revealed to us in the form of symbols which we can quite easily relate to. Your dream symbols will be slightly different compared to someone's dream symbols in China or Russia. Culture is always significant in our lives.

Why are dreams so important?

Dreams will be shown to you as Information or as Instruction, depending upon the context of the dream.

Dreams can also be Precognitive (providing a glimpse of the future), Prophetic (providing a message about your spiritual growth), or Clarifying (as when you are specifically asking for an answer to a situation).

Dreams are wonderful tools when we decide to go deeper within in order to access all the help that is available to us. During the day, all our senses are occupied with our daily tasks and we rarely give ourselves time to go within in meditation or prayer. During our sleep, all our senses are open and there is no interference from outside perceptions. At night time our brain frequency goes down to a Theta level (4-7 Hz or cycles/second). During daytime as we are working, the brain frequency is at a Beta level (14-21 Hz). At that high brain frequency we are not perceptive to inner guidance.

Note that even while conscious during the day in Beta, for a split second every minute we reach down to a Theta level. This is our Inner Guidance, which many times will give us the answer to a question or situation. This is what most people label as LUCK.

I never dream

Everyone dreams, but different circumstances can prevent us from remembering our dreams. Dream laboratories have been in use for at least 25 years. The research has shown that we all dream in intervals, and dreams are very important for our well-being, whether we remember them or not.

How can I remember my dreams?

We can all "program" ourselves to remember our dreams. Every skill takes a little time and discipline. Do not be discouraged when you cannot remember your dreams immediately. Just keep on reminding yourself before fall sleep that you are going to remember your dreams, and you will!

Also, by keeping a Dream Journal you are subconsciously allowing yourself to be able to recall your dreams. Put your dream journal beside your bed so you know where it is and you can write down your dreams as you are waking up. A dream journal is a tool that will help you to speed up your own process of spiritual growth.
