Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is Universal Life Force Energy. This energy is the God Force. It is a transcendental energy, which combines with and activates the innate energy that exists in everything to promote wellness and healing on all levels of the physical body, the mental and causal bodies and the spiritual being. This energy transcends the personality. Human feeling, beliefs or emotions cannot influence it.

The word reiki comes from the Japanese and means “Universal Life Energy”. REI describes the Universal and limitless aspect of this energy. KI represents the life force which is in all living things. The KI is the same energy that is known as CHI by the Chinese, PRANA by the Hindu, and MANA by the Kahunas.

The origin of Reiki dates back 10,000 years into the ancient history of Japan, Egypt and China/Tibet. It was used in India, China and Japan, and came to us through Dr. Mikao Usui, who rediscovered it in the middle of the 19th century.

Reiki assists the body in healing and is totally natural and holistic. It also balances the body’s energies by bringing the body, mind and spirit into proper alignment.

People of all faiths, philosophies, ideologies and religions can use Reiki energy.

Reiki works well with other types of therapy and will help them be more effective, often making the process of healing occur more rapidly. The integration of Reiki light-touch-healing with conventional medicine has proven to be very powerful. Many hospitals are using Reiki as a pre- and post-treatment in surgery.

A Reiki practitioner does not diagnose or prescribe medication. Even if the Reiki practitioner can sense and “see” the problem, always consult with your physician and inform your physician that you are seeing a Reiki practitioner.

As you are receiving Reiki, you might experience that it will be possible to lower your intake of medications that you presently are using, but a decision of that nature must be made by your physician and/or a licensed medical professional only.
