Reiki and Vibrational Healing

The concept of an Energy Field has been known since ancient time. Words like Chi and Prana are still used today. Adepts of all religions have spoken of either experiencing or seeing light around people’s heads through their development of their higher sense perception. The Human Energy Field has also been described in esoteric teachings of the Theosophists, Rosicrucians, Native American Medicine People, Tibetan and Indian Buddhists, Madame Blavatsky, Rudolf Steiner, and Mikao Usui to name a few. Throughout history the concept of a universal energy has also been held by western scientific minds. The first recorded scientific literature was by way of the Pythagoreans around 500 B.C. It was stated that light could produce a variety of effects in the human organism, and this included the cure of illness. In the twelfth century Boirac and Liebeault noted that humans have an energy that can cause an interaction between individuals at a distance. They even stated that one person can have a healthful or unhealthful effect on another by his presence. In the 1800s Helmont and Mesmer reported that animate and inanimate objects could be charged with this universal fluid and that they could influence each other at a distance. A Count Wilhelm Von Reichenbach spent thirty years in the mid 1800s experimenting with this same field which he called the “odic force.” He determined that this field had a unique polarity. He did countless experiments, and his work was highly significant in regard to the progressive knowledge in regard to the human energy field.

What is especially interesting here is that since 1900 many medical doctors as well as scientists have become interested in this phenomenon. The general consensus in many of these studies is that this energy body is a field which forms a matrix which interpenetrates the dense physical body like a sparkling web of light beams. Also, this energetic matrix is the basic pattern upon which the physical matter of the tissues is shaped and formed. In other words the tissues exist only because of this vital field behind them. Scientists have been able to mathematically analyze this energy in the laboratory. These electronic measurements have been consistent with normal physiological processes of the body. The frequency of this energy can be measured in Hertz (Hz) or cycles/second and also megahertz (Mhz) a unit of frequency equal to one cycle per second. This is an acoustic measurement. Frequency in itself is a measureable rate of electrical energy which is constant between any two points. It has been discovered through such scientific measurement that the brain waves of a Reiki practitioner and receiver become synchronized in a deep relaxation state termed as alfa. They pulse in unison with the earth’s magnetic field known as Schumann Resonance. During these moments, the biomagnetic field of the practitioner is considered to be at least 1000 times greater than normal. The Reiki practitioner draws on the infinite energy source from out of the universe. Herein lies the healing power of Reiki.
